Value acceleration is when real progress is made towards a stronger business that is more ready for a successful exit. During this phase, leaders within the business are driving initiatives identified by the leadership team. SDG Strategy's role during this phase is to make sure that those initiatives are progressing well and delivering the benefits needed. We help the initiative owners with mid-month one-on-one calls and we hold the entire team accountable in month-end accountability workshops. Every ninety days we reflect on the progress made and prepare for the next cycle.
Every month we have a one-on-one video call with the initiative owner. The business owner is also welcome to join these calls. The goal is to ensure the initiative is hitting its milestones and achieving its targets. We provide encouragement for the initiative owner to maintain the focus and effort required, identify and help resolve resource constraints that may be impeding progress, and ensure the initiative owner is ready to present his initiative in the monthly accountability workshop.
At the end of each month, the entire leadership team comes together to review progress on the roadmap. The business owner briefly reviews progress on annual goals. Each initiative owner presents progress on milestones, metrics, and goals, as well as identifying issues and constraints. The team celebrates progress, identifies issues and commits to resolve them (outside the workshop), and agrees on any changes to the original plan. In the third monthly workshop, initiatives and owners for the next ninety days are confirmed.
Shortly after the third Month-End Accountability Workshop, the leadership team comes back together to review lessons learned over the previous 90 days, reviews the plans by owners for the next set of initiatives, and makes any necessary adjustments to the sequenced list of initiatives.
